Their small slice of heaven by momentspause Their small slice of heaven by momentspause
The Yearning For Zion Ranch - formerly owned by Warren Jeffs (currently serving life plus 20) and his Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

3 days after I shot this, the State of Texas finalized its seizure of the ranch property, "...a rural location where the systemic sexual assault of children would be tolerated without interference from law enforcement authorities"

Is it weird to think think I had no idea of that when we were there? 3 days later and boom. Apparently there were only 8 adults left there when we saw it.

In the sense that it is a good thing that the property has been taken from the wingnuts. . .

Dear friend, I loved this title.

A painful subject ... the alienation of human thought.
The ignorance protects us from some truths. Currently, we talk about religious tolerance. And this tolerance is responsible also for the alienation of mind, and perhaps for the economic exploitation for the benefit of some false prophets. The alienated don't look for an authentic world, they seek solutions to problems in another reality.

The other part is we realize this alienation doesn't act only in the form of religions, but also in some infiltrated preconceptions in our minds.

Its  tricky thing, religion, belief, and the need for faith and potential ceding of one's own morality and needs.

True. (laughs) My colleagues said, conversations about religion, politics and football, always end up in trouble!
